Type Locality and Naming
Along the village of Kurut, Zaraufshan River valley. M.R. Jalilov, Yu.N. Andreev, F.Kh. Hakimov et al., 1971 (191, p. 80). Stratotype in the area of the village of Kurut, northeast of the town of Ayni, on the right slope of the Zaraufshan River valley.
Synonym: Kurut Suite, Курутская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Light-gray rudist limestones with sandstone layers (on the north slope of the Turkestan range). Thickness 5-12m.
